About Me

I'm Shakeel, a London-based software engineer who enjoys solving user-centered problems and building robust systems.

I hold a BSc in Computer Science (with Artificial Intelligence) from King's College London, where I graduated in 2019 with First Class Honours.

My interest in technology started when I was 14 years old, when on a whim I started learning C++ using learncpp.com. Despite getting stuck at pointers, the ability to make my computer do what I wanted was fascinating.

Two months later I found myself working with a small indie team on a game idea, coding in C#. Working with a team of like-minded young people to bring something to life brought a sense of craft and enjoyment that I wanted to experience more of.

One self-taught Android Java app later - and I knew I wanted to pursue software engineering as a career.

Fast-forward to today, I've had the privilege to work with a student tech society, a start-up, an inter-university student start-up hub and most recently a traditional service business.

My experiences are widely varied, and within each I have taken a position of significant responsibility. I've enjoyed working with great people to build products, solve problems and connect people together to bring about positive growth.

I am always open to new collaborations, conversations and opportunities. Please pop a message if you’re interested in working together or chatting!

Shakeel.
